Son of Henry Lewis Wills

Clifton Ford Wills is the oldest child of Henry and Lottie (Schrewsbury) Wills. Henry may not be Clifton's father according to family history. It is understood that when Henry married Charlotte, she was pregnant but he was not aware. When Clifton was born, Henry would not look at him for two days. Then he came in to see her and told her he would raise Clifton as if he was his own. No one knows who the father was. True to his word, Henry raised Clifton as one of his own. As far as the family can say, the subject never came up again.

Clifton Ford Wills was a farmer. He lived at Grassy Meadows, Greenbrier Co., W.V. and later in Beckley, W.V. He is buried in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, W.V. per the Schrewsbury Family files.

Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Wills celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary yesterday with an at-home celebration.

The couple married July 29, 1916 at Grassy Meadows in a ceremony conducted by the late Rev. Hermann Bishoff.

Former residents of Greebrier County, the Willses moved to Beckley in 1975. They are the parents of six children, grandparents of three and have 13 great grandchildren.
